Cumberland Island Museum & War of 1812 Exhibit

The Cumberland Island museum houses a collection of artifacts from Cumberland Island and is open and free to the public. The collection covers the timeline and people of the island. Some of the residents of the island include Native Americans, African Americans, the Stafford’s and the Carnegie family, as well as others who lived on the island in the 19th and 20th centuries. An exhibit room on The War of 1812, the “Forgotten Invasion,” is certainly a highlight.
