Okefenokee Heritage Center | May 25th | 10AM-4PM

This event is dedicated to showcasing the area’s folk culture and it’s history! The Wiregrass Ecological & Cultural Project and friends will be interpreting what life was like around the Okefenokee Swamp during the mid to late nineteenth century. Demonstrations will include butter churning, soap making, candle dipping, cast iron cookin’, spinning, weaving, and much more! Take a peak inside the historic Hilliard House and stroll among authentic Seminole Indian encampments. There will be plenty to do and see! In addition to the historical presentations, arts, crafts, and food vendors will be on site.
