“Wild Encounters: Being a Bug” at Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge World Heritage Site

Discover the fascinating world of insects during this special nighttime program at Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge World Heritage Site.
Researchers from the University of Georgia Entomology Lab will share what makes insects unique and introduce participants to some of the refuge’s most overlooked wildlife. The evening will also include black-lighting, giving guests a chance to observe local insects up close and see what comes alive after dark.
The program begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Richard S. Bolt Visitor Center at the refuge.
The program is free, but space is limited and advance registration is required. Standard entrance fees to Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge apply. A $5 Okefenokee Day Pass is valid for one week and covers one vehicle. A $14.50 annual pass is valid for one year and covers one vehicle. Passes may be purchased at the entrance or online in advance.
