USS George Bancroft Sail Exhibit

Dive into the rich history of the USS George Bancroft, an original “Forty-one for Freedom” ballistic missile submarine from the Cold War era. Visit the impressive replica of the submarine’s top, including a 65-ton, 42×9-foot sail, located outside the gates of the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in St. Marys.

To visit The BANCROFT Sail Exhibit is located directly in front of the main entrance to the base at the intersection of St. Marys Road and Georgia State Highway Spur 40. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Parking: Please park in the base’s Pass and ID parking lot at the Franklin Gate. Always be safe and monitor children.
