Found in Camden County, the Georgia Coastal Rail Trail features miles in which to go biking in Kingsland, Georgia stretching north to Riceboro. Following an abandoned CSX railway, the trail displays the lush beauty of longleaf pine, marsh, sawgrass, and creeks. Scenic for hikers and bikers, Woodbine’s bike trails north of Kingsland provide miles of trails to explore as well. The Woodbine Rails Trail has six miles of paved trail that makes exploring coastal Georgia a biker’s dream. Concrete paths, wooded trails, bridges, and more await to explore along the Satilla River along Satilla River Park. Just North of Woodbine of Highway 17, you’ll find a three-mile course, White Oak Rail Trail with plenty of parking, a playground for the kiddos, picnic tables for the family, and a scenic bridge along an abandoned rail corridor.

The coastal city has a number of bike lanes and trails that make it easy and safe to get around, and there are plenty of places to stop and enjoy the views. All of the efforts to continue to develop the Greenway will provide additional advancements to the already connected sites along Highway 17. There are many places currently to camp out, but there will soon be a ferry that will connect St. Marys, Georgia and Fernandina Beach, Florida. Taking the Trek a long distance on the East Coast Greenway is for experienced cyclists only, but there are several spots along the trail that are traffic-free and great for families. Kingsland, Georgia is a destination for cyclists, especially those who want to ride the Eastern Coast Greenway.
Boasting paved trails and beautiful terrain, Crooked River State Park has a mile of friendly paved, hard-surface trails to explore. Crooked River is a nature’s paradise perfect for exploring Georgia pine Flatwoods, gopher tortoises, and bird sightings. You can rent bikes at the State Park or bring your own, but be sure to bring your Georgia State Parks Pass for entry! If you need a break from a day of cycling, stop in the Kingsland Station and hop on the Georgia Coastal Railway Train for a ride through Kingsland and enjoy scenic marsh and grasslands while you rest your bike legs. If you are looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure, look to hop on the ferry in St. Marys and head to Cumberland Island. With rustic, sandy paths and so much history to explore on this beautiful island, you will enjoy a day of riding. There are no paved roads on Cumberland Island, but you can rent a bike from the Cumberland Island Ferry to bike on the island. This is for a more seasoned rider as biking the Cumberland Island trails are more difficult, plus your bicycle needs to have more durable, wider tires to withstand the trek as well.
