Birding Basics at Crooked River State Park
Crooked River State Park Nature Center | Sunday, June 21 | 9-10 AM | Free Class
Discover the fascinating world of birds during Birding Basics at the Nature Center at Crooked River State Park. This beginner-friendly program introduces participants to the fundamentals of bird identification, observation techniques, and birding etiquette while exploring the park’s diverse coastal habitats. Led by park staff, the guided walk offers a chance to spot local and migratory species while learning what makes birdwatching one of the fastest-growing outdoor hobbies in America.
The program is free to attend and begins at the Nature Center. Guests are encouraged to bring their own binoculars, though a limited number will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Comfortable walking shoes, water, bug spray, and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
NOTE: While there is no charge for the class, a Georgia State Park parking pass is required for vehicles entering the park. For more information, call Crooked River State Park at 912-882-5256
