Explore the rich history, traditions, and living culture of the Cherokee people during this interactive presentation by the Cherokee of Georgia Tribal Council at the Camden County Public Library. Through stories, artifacts, and cultural insights, participants will learn about the Cherokee people of the past and present, gaining a deeper understanding of one of the Southeast’s most enduring Indigenous cultures.

State-recognized since 1988, the Cherokee of Georgia Tribal Council is dedicated to preserving and sharing Cherokee heritage through education, cultural programming, and community outreach. Based in nearby St. George, Georgia, the organization maintains tribal grounds that include a museum, cultural displays, a traditional seven-sided council house, and facilities used for educational programs and public events throughout the year. This engaging program offers a unique opportunity to connect with local Indigenous history and learn directly from those working to preserve it for future generations.
