For activities to keep your group busy while experiencing Kingsland and Southeast Georgia’s renown picturesque nature, take the celebration outdoors at one of the several golf clubs or nature trails in the area.

Laurel Island Links features 18 holes on a course with breathtaking views of the marsh. Snack, drink, or dine on-site at Bogey’s Bar & Grille. Trident Lakes Golf Club is another golfing gem of Kingsland; also with an 18-hole course, it’s complemented by lush trees for a tranquil and shaded setting. It’s located on the naval base and open to the public, and features a pro shop if you forgot to pack a golfing essential or want to pick up a souvenir.

For an indoor option that will still keep up with your pace, Unleashed Camden is a great go-to (and located right down the round from our hotel recs). They’re known for their fantastic axe throwing experience, but it doesn’t stop there–Unleashed Camden is also a bar & lounge, and also sports pool tables, cornhole boards, jukebox, slot machines, and both a rage room and paint splatter room! They also have a selection of merch from local businesses that make great mementos to take back home. It’s really a one-stop shop for experiencing and supporting Kingsland’s small-town charm.

Another indoor option for the discerning gentleman is Gotti Life Cigar Co., a sophisticated cigar lounge that is veteran-owned and deals in quality products in a refined setting. They unroll their red carpet of excellent, friendly service to aficionados and newcomers alike, served up alongside freshly brewed coffee to complement the experience. You can even order more of your favorites online once you’re back home (or while on your trip!). This luxurious spot is located right on the edge of Historic Downtown Kingsland–after your visit, head downtown to stroll the red-brick sidewalks under glowing lamps, lined with local shops and eateries.

Back to the outdoors: there’s still more to explore!

Take a workout break with pickleball at one of Howard Peeples Park’s eight courts. If you prefer something more low-key like disc golf, venture into the Gum Branch Nature Preserve and to the Preserve’s picturesque disc golf course surrounded by lush foliage and towering trees. It’s pet-friendly, too, and you can traverse the course on foot or with a golf cart rental. Howard Peeples Park also has a basketball court, picnic tables, pavillion, a baseball field, and winding trails that you can stroll or jog.

If we’ve charmed you with mentions of trails, there’s the White Oak Trailhead stretch of the Coastal Georgia Greenway Trail’s Georgia Coast Rail-Trail project. It follows the path of a decommissioned CSX rail corridor, and is full of unmatched nature across a landscape of sawgrass, marshlands, and pine forests, and traverses creeks and tidal rivers along the way. Visitors can explore the Trailhead on foot or cycling,

After all of this exploring and activity, you’ll need a few local spots to unwind and refuel. Kingsland wows with its natural beauty as well as its delicious Southern eats and fresh seafood.

Outerbanks Bar & Grill, or OBX, is a great local dive for cold drinks and good eats. Relax and decompress with a menu full of mouthwatering dishes like mussels, chicken wings, nachos, tacos, and cooked-to-perfect burgers, paired with cocktails and the current offerings on tap.

For a dining experience focused on fresh Coastal Georgia seafood, Ship 2 Shore Seafood & Steaks is the place. Their savory menu includes lobster tail, shrimp, flounder, catfish, gator tail, and crab, as well as all the fixins’, like fried okra and pickles. Don’t worry–they have land options, too, such as ribeye, sirloin, burgers, and chicken. There will definitely be new favorites for everybody in your group!

Need a caffeine pick-me-up? Blue Bridge Coffeehouse is the go-to for both hot and cold beverages, as well as quick breakfast grabs like breakfast sandwiches and egg bites.

Fall is an excellent time to visit Kingsland and its nature offerings; the air is cool, the sun adds some warmth, and there’s autumnal-shaded trees mixed in with our usual greenery that adds even more depth and charm. It’s an even better experience with a group of your favorite people to make memories with!
